Cambridge Open Eco Homes 2013

Posted on 30 June 2013

On 15th and 24th June 2013 Cambridge Carbon Footprint (www.cambridgecarbonfootprint.org) held its Open Eco Homes - an annual eco-renovation event - for the fourth time. This year they opened the doors to 15 homes in and around Cambridge, all new builds or recently retro-fitted eco properties.

The general aim of the event is to inform, inspire and advise homeowners on how to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Last year CCF recorded over 470visits the houses they opened, where the visitors were demonstrated a wide range of eco-renovation technologies – from underfloor heating to solar energy panels, all kinds of insulation and condensing boilers, right through to green roofs, gardens and saving rainwater.

You can view selected case studies from Open Eco Homes here (http://cambridgecarbonfootprint.org/action/climate-friendly-homes-project/), and find further information at the Open Eco Homes website (http://openecohomes.org/).
